Cumberland Island

On Wednesday, July 30, Cathy and I decided to take a little adventure to Cumberland Island (CI). You see, it was Cathy's birthday and she had the day off. I have never been to CI and have always wanted to go. It was the perfect opportunity. So we seized it. Cumberland is just south of Brunswick located just off the Georgia coast at St. Mary's. Right before you get to the Florida boarder. To arrive at CI you have to take a 45 minute boat ride and then walk where ever you go. There are a few houses and ruins of houses, but for the most part it is wilderness. CI is mostly famous for its wild horses that roam the island. The beach was amazing with very few people on it. There was so much wildlife to see. I'm going to try and recap the adventure for you, but if you ever get a chance to go you should defiantly go. Just remember to put on your walking shoes.

The adventure begins. We are on the boat leaving St. Mary's. One of the first things we see when we arrive at Cumberland is the beautiful oak trees with Spanish moss and the wild horses.

Here are some of the ruins left on the island. Stay tuned for the rest for the adventure.
